Coney Island. New York. April 9, 2000.

At 6 AM on November 17, 2000, before proposals to grand it Landmark status could be processed, bulldozers came in by order of the City of New York and began to demolish the Thunderbolt's dormant structure. Later on that day, the dust began settling on a vacant lot. And a piece of Coney Island died.
