coney postcards
the disposable project pt 2

The Parachute Jump was originally built for the 1939-40 World's Fair and became a Coney Island landmark after relocation to Steeplechase Park (now Keyspan Parking Lot.) It has stood dormant since 1964, when Steeplechase closed, but it's rumored some folks want refurbish the entire thing and get it back into working use again. Imagine that! A 60-year-old ride coming back to life to entertain new generations of amusement seekers.
