This
one hit home hard to several people. One friend told me he read it
just after he got laid off his dot com job. Others said they were
on the chopping block next and they knew it. None regretted the take
on the bloated, egotistical management idiocy, however. It was funny
because it was too true.
And,
two weeks later, I'd be informed that the company I'd had a contract
with for over two years was cutting off all contractors. A month later
I'd be out of a job due to "existing market conditions."
More succinctly, the company turned a profit in 2000, but it wasn't
enough of a profit. Goddamn. We never learn.
Hey,
check out who has a cameo in this strip. They just can't get enough
of the C-A-R!
