I can't remember the details on this one but I think some interviews had come out from McCartney and Harrison wherein they both said John was the first one to consider leaving the Beatles. As if it really matters today who was first to think of quitting and when -- you could tell by the Let It Be footage that they were pretty much all about ready to quit.

The "Alanis Morrisette" bit at the end of the letter is something that I've been doing for years now. I don't exactly know why and I'm not sure why it still strikes me as funny, but I'll gladly throw it in when I need a fake letter signed.
